Holiday HeartThrobs

There’s nothing like a snuggle with the ink version of a Hallmark movie. Celebrate the magic of Christmas love with these releases.

I am a fiend for Christmas. Give me all of the Hallmark movies, ice skating under the moonlight, homemade sugar cookies and fireplace snuggles that can be dished out. This book satisfied all of my cravings for happily ever afters.

Kaitlyn has harbored feelings for Rafe since middle school. She always dreamed of kissing him, but he was kinda off limits because he was the brother of  her best friend.

Then they became best friends, and a wedding reception and an open bar led to an unforgettable night. Now they have to move forward, but they’re avoiding each other.

You’ll love this slow burn Christmas romance.

Overall, this is a solid, feel good contemporary romance. The main characters, Tobias and Harper, both have emotional baggage they need to work through before they can have a healthy relationship.

Tobias is an ex-con, and he stays aloof from the community because of the stigma. Harper invested her entire self to launch her soon to be ex-husband’s rock star career – and he has decided he wants the hook-up lifestyle more than a wife and family.

Harper is torn because her kids still love their enigmatic father, and indulging in her feelings for Tobias feels suspiciously like betrayal. Tobias is finally opening up his heart to trust again, but maybe with the wrong woman.

I empathized with Tobias, but wanted to berate Harper at times for her blindness.

Olivia is determined to make everyone’s Christmas better. She works hard all year long persuading corporate America to support her charity organization. But Guy is a self-professed Scrooge. He has exchanged extremely biting emails with Olivia in his capacity as the CFO of one of her biggest donors. But Guy doesn’t see the value in her charity, and lets her know in no uncertain terms that she shouldn’t expect his check.

Through a series of mishaps and minor catastrophies, Guy is stranded in Olivia’s domain. To avoid detection, he assumes another identity. But his lies and his Grinchy behavior will catch up with him.

This was a heartwarming tale about a Grinch whose heart grew and grew.
